I will be the General Chair of MICCAI 2030 in Rotterdam, bringing together a global organizing committee from 32 countries across 6 continents to shape the future of clinically valuable, trustworthy, and impactful medical AI.

The 2026 MICCAI Open Data Special Issue marked several major milestones for the initiative, including recognition as an official MICCAI Special Interest Group (SIG), the introduction of Health Equity micro-grants, 29 submissions to the Open Data Track, and 16 accepted dataset papers advancing FAIR and inclusive medical AI research.

The first MELBA Special Issue arising from the MICCAI Open Data initiative, bringing together 13 openly accessible datasets from the 2024 and 2025 editions and advancing FAIR, inclusive, and data-centric medical AI research.

AFRICAI-RI is a €5M Horizon Europe project establishing Africa’s first federated medical imaging infrastructure. As Erasmus MC PI and Work Package Lead, I contribute to building the FAIR and federated infrastructure enabling collaborative AI research across Africa.
